⭐
Hotel Scorecard
-
Worth the Cost
Excellent value for money considering its particular location, and therefore still affordable for budget travelers who don’t want spending much on accommodation in an otherwise expensive neighborhood.
-
Staff & Service
Very kind staff; they are always warmly received and are willing to help with everything, even going an extra mile.
-
Location Convenience
The location at Istanbul is literally perfect; you are literally steps out of Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia at the absolute heart of the historic peninsula.
-
Surroundings
The neighborhood is a living museum, with world-famous mosques, palaces, bazaars, and Roman ruins all within a few minutes’ walk - well, outside front door.
-
Overall Cleanliness
The diligent staff would keep the hotel very clean and tidy but that doesn’t’ hid the fact on the age of the facilities since the standards of hygiene are consistently very high.
-
Breakfast
The art of Turkish breakfast is the biggest value where a bountiful tradition spread of cheeses, and fresh vegetables, eggs, olives, and bread is to be found.
-
Bed & Pillows
Simple functional beds do enough to help a traveler get up and out for sightseeing the next morning while luxurious comfort is not provided.
-
Internet Speed
Free Wi-Fi covers these essentials of messaging and browsing, but it may be slow or sporadic if many guests log on at once during peak times.
-
Hotel Freshness
This is an old Sultanahmet building, so it has a classic feel. It's more charming in its traditional scruffiness than newly renovated, so relatively worn rather than chic.
-
Quietness Level
The street can be quite noisy as there are lots of mosques in the neighborhood and the muezzin wails out the call to prayer, which is quite haunting though very noisy.
-
Long Stay Potential
Great for a quick visit of 3-4 days to see the sights but the rooms are so tiny that it could begin to feel claustrophobic as the length of stay increases.
-
Parking Facilities
Don’t expect to find parking in the hotel’s neighborhood and indulging Sultanahmet for tourists is not best. The neighborhood is convenient to explore on foot or by public transport.
